teatro GLIMT International Newsletter Summer 2009…

Dear Colleagues, friends, organisers and contemporary circus enthusiasts.

In this newsletter you can read about teatro GLIMT’s residency and participation at the festival of Chateau de Monthelon in France, our new collaboration with André Gintzburger and the upcoming Danish performing arts showcase called “p@rt”.

Monthelon

For the second year in a row teatro GLIMT has had the pleasure of being invited for a residency at Chateau de Monthelon South of Paris. This time the upcoming solo performance “Two Faces”, premiering in Copenhagen on 19 March 2010, was the topic to be explored. The team (Camila Sarrazin, performer, Kasper Ravnhøj, Choreographer and Maja Romm, musician) experienced a fruitful collaborative atmosphere and founded a solid basis for future rehearsals pointing towards the premiere next Spring.

Also many thanks are due to Ueli Hirzel for staging yet another summer festival of good spirits and great circus!

International Tour Booking

In July teatro GLIMT made an agreement with André Gintzburger who will be promoting and organizing international tours of our latest solo performance “Sisyphus Ascending”.

We are very happy to be collaborating with André Gintzburger as he has been a well known character of international performing arts for the past 50 years. Passionate about avant garde theatre, unusual circus, original street arts, subversive performances that bring a different vision on contemporary society, it is evident that his ways of working with artists and culture professionals is based on trust and mutual respect.

André was the man behind the first performances in France of Beckett, Ionesco and others. He then accompanied Julian Beck's Living Theatre, Jérôme Savary's Grand Magic Circus, Alfredo Arias, the beginning of Royal de Luxe and Zingaro etc.

Should your curiosity have been awakened, you will have the possibility of experiencing “Sisyphus Ascending” live, as well as a “work in progress” showing of “Two Faces”, at “p@rt”, the Danish performing arts showcase which will be held in Copenhagen 5 – 7 November 2009.

Apart from teatro GLIMT you will of course have the opportunity of meeting others of the leading performing artists in Denmark and have a chance to see some radical, sculpted, provocative and socially conscious dance, theatre and performance.
